All Ages Can Wear Funny T Shirts

Wearing funny t shirts can be done at almost any age. You can use them to show off your personality and your likes and dislikes.

An infant wearing a funny t shirt is always very cute. I remember some of the first funny t shirts that I bought for my little ones. They had funny sayings about diapers, bottles, how much they loved their relatives and parents. It always makes people say "aw". I think that they are getting even more creative these days with the infant t shirts. Of course, when they become toddlers, you can put them in something about walking because most of them are just learning, it makes the t shirt that much funnier.

A preschooler in a funny t shirt would probably have something to do with the kind of things they like to do. Or they could be about a favorite character on a television show they enjoy. My nephew loves tractors, and I bought him a funny t shirt that said "Will Trade Sister for Tractor", which he would probably do, if given the chance to. I love reading little kid's shirts and asking them about them. Some of them know what their funny t shirts say, and some have no idea.

By the time the kids get into elementary school, they usually want to have a say in what they wear. They sometimes enjoy shopping for their clothes and funny t shirts could be a way to make friends. If your little one is very shy, then a t shirt with a noticeable character on it may spark a conversation with a possible friend. One of the first funny shirts that my daughter had was one that said "It's my brother's fault". She has two older brothers and blames everything on them. A lot of the mothers that saw her shirt told me that their daughter needed that shirt also. She became good friends with a few of those girls.

You will know when your kids are starting their adolescent's stage, because you cannot pick out their clothes anymore. You do not know what is cool and what is not. My teenage boys do not like any of the funny t shirts that I like and I usually do not like the ones that they pick out. Since they do not like shopping at the mall, we have resorted to the Internet to purchase a lot of the funny t shirts that they want. I do not mind, as long as the t shirts that they buy are not offensive. I have seen many teenagers with t shirts that I would never allow my boys to wear.

When you are ready to send them off the college, then they are eighteen and you probably have no say in the kinds of t shirts they are wearing. I think that this is usually the time they start wearing the funny t shirts about drinking and partying. I would hope that they are still thinking of the image that they portray, but it is a rite of passage for most kids. This is when they start to realize that they are responsible for all of their decisions.

As grown mature adults, we can wear funny t shirts too. I have some that refer back to a couple of eighties movies. I do not think they are offensive, or are they something that everyone will get. Most are just funny to me and my friends who have seen the movies. You can wear funny t shirts well into your senior years, some may be funny to other and some may not. As long as they are age appropriate and you like them, that is all that matters.

Funny Pictures For a Good Laugh

When the economy looks gloomy, everyone needs some humor for a good laugh. As the saying goes, "Laughter is the best medicine." That's probably true to a certain extent. Laughter can most certainly help relieve stress. And as we all know, too much stress can be harmful to health. Fortunately, there are tons of free resources on the Internet that will have you in stitches in no time. Let's take a look at some of these resources.

Funny pictures.

There are all kinds of funny pictures on the Internet. Some are based on true events, while others are created just for a few good laughs. For instance, you can find entertainment images of your favorite celebrities. Mostly, these are images that are edited by fans and posted on various humor sites. There are literally hundreds (or thousands) of such images on the web. You just have to know where to look.

Cool stuff.

Cool stuff is entertaining as well. These are pictures that may or may not be funny. But there are very interesting. People tend to circulate such pictures via email to their family and friends because these images look cool. Looking cool means the subject of focus is something that is out of the ordinary. For instance, you may see a picture of a cool robot that is created from scrap metal.

Illusions.

Illusions can provide hours and hours of entertainment. These images are created with the intention of fooling the perception of the viewer. The illusions are mostly created with clever image editing tricks. A single image can be used to represent more than one view - depending on how you look at the picture. Usually, you will need to spend a few minutes on each picture just to be able to see the optical illusion.

Funny kids pictures.

Children are always fun to have around. They get into lots of funny situations because of their innocence. Many children photos don't even need to be edited. The original photos are already pretty funny. Besides, children have the liberty to do anything they want without getting into trouble. So the possibilities for great pictures are endless. For example, a young child posing as a football fan can show the middle finger and look cute. An adult showing the middle finger will certainly come across as offensive!

Military images.

Sometimes, a serious environment can create the most hilarious situations. For those who enjoy military jokes, such images are ideal. Jokes are often based on soldiers and interesting looking weaponry.

Funny people pictures.

Children can be funny, but sometimes, adults get into humorous situations as well. Many of these pictures or snapshots of adults making funny faces. On occasions, you get to see funny things happening to adults in real life. These are usually shots that are captured while an adult is working. During the act, an accident happens (like falling off a ladder). Adults clowning around can be quite funny at times.

Political jokes.

Many people like to make fun of politicians. Instead of adopting a serious view about politics, many bloggers and webmasters create funny pictures of key figures. These images tend to attract more readers.

Note that most of the works mentioned above are created purely for entertainment. If you find some of the jokes to be offensive, simply shut them out. Just browse less offensive images like children's funny pictures.

That's Funny - The Use of Humor in Persuasion

I find it funny that I am about to tell you why humor is such a great tool in the art of persuasion. It just seems so obvious. After all, humor speaks in universal truths about human existence, and invites people to laugh at themselves and even laugh with others at themselves. Or laugh at others in blissful ignorance that the joke is really about themselves.

Everyone loves quotes. And all speakers use them. What is so funny about quotes? How about quoting myself? Because, as I say quite often, "United we stand, but divided, we can not stand each other!" And I could not agree more. Humor breaks down the barriers that keep us divided and polarized. Humor builds bridges to bring us together. Humor attracts interest, puts people on common footing, and creates an atmosphere of goodwill that is conducive to meaningful communication. Humor discharges resistance, overcomes stubbornness, and creates opportunity for dialog. Humor has such a positive impact on people that more and more businesses (not the dead-serious ones though!) use it to train and retain employees. Humor is a powerful tool for the person serious about creating positive change. Why? Well, in case I haven't made the point, not because I say so. It's a fact. Humor is persuasive.

But let's be honest. Not all humor is equally funny. In fact, bad humor is also one of the fastest ways to put people in a bad mood, undermine relationships, create hard feelings, offend sensibilities, poison an atmosphere and destroy what could have been a great event, project, team, business, or community.

And I'd say that it is safe to say that not all funny is funny to all. In-jokes are usually only funny to the people in on the joke, the people who shared the experience with you. They tend to leave everyone else drawing a blank. But sometimes, you tell an in-joke, the people who are in start laughing, and the people who aren't in on the joke start laughing too! All the while, they are wondering, and maybe even saying, "What's so funny?" because they want to know why they are laughing.

Still, you just can't please all the people all the time. If it is tasteless, spare us. Unless you know us and know that our taste runs all the way to tasteless. And really, the only way to know what is and isn't funny is to know as much as you can about who you are talking to and find out what you can about what they find funny.

So just how do we use our wits to keep our wits about us? How do we use humor in our communications in order to foster goodwill, camaraderie and common ground? How do we persuade with humor?

For starters, be non-verbal! No, no, I don't mean don't say anything! Although there are people who, without saying a word, can make people laugh, and even change people's minds, because they're funny to watch. Just as there are people who provoke laughter in others by acting funny, looking funny, and sounding funny, regardless of what they say. But I'll say this about the way people look and sound. Nonverbal humor makes verbal humor funnier. And a nonverbal lack of humor can make verbal humor as flat as a pancake, flat as a board, as flat as a tropical ocean on a hot windless day when the sweat pouring from your skin is hot enough to make tea but you have no water to drink because someone convinced you that taking a walk under the cloud cover that is now gone would be great exercise, and you find yourself shouting to the heavens 'THIS IS A VACATION? DEAR LORD, WHY DO YOU WANT ME TO DIE?" and your anguished cry has no echo and falls flat and the silence makes the heat seem even hotter than had you said nothing at all. But I digress.

The point I'm trying to make is that verbal humor, without nonverbal humor to support it, can be risky business, like writing that previous sentence. It was really funny when I was saying it, but you couldn't see me. I could. Trust me, it was VERY funny. But all you have are the words. In fact, one of the un-funniest things you can try to do with words is write about what is funny. It's painful! But the good news is, pain is funny. Keep laughing at me or with me and I'll explain in a moment.

While there are inherently funny words, (newcular instead of nuclear, for example) you will find more funny in a facial expression, a playful voice tone, and an exaggerated gesture. And you can use words to create a funny picture, to imply an accent, or to demonstrate that you have plenty of attitude. Y'all need me to draw you a pitcher? Well, pitcher this. Cartoons ever make you laugh? Oh yes, they did. And how? Through the dishing out of incredible amounts of pain. And why did that make you laugh? The painful fact is, that...

Pain is funny. Comedians understand that pain, whether physical or emotional, is what's so funny about humor. Not all pain. Just the kind you survive. And pain is funnier when it is happening to someone else. Not so much when it happens to you. Except, that is, for the people who watch it happening to you. They may be quite amused. They're thinking that it's better you than them. They are laughing at your expense. Nice of you to give them such a treat. Which gives us a new twist on an old adage. "If you can't laugh at your own pain, laugh at someone else's." So it should be no surprise that...

Ridicule can be ridiculously funny. Making fun of serious things can be funny, just as being serious about funny things can be funny. Though in this age of the politically correct, you should be very careful about who and what you make fun of. Ridiculing yourself is always a good bet. There was a time when laughing at 'the other' was funny, whether it was a racial difference or a gender difference. Actually, gender differences are still funny. This is universal, so everybody gets it. Like that time I was working with a couple in my counseling practice. And the husband says to me, "She's crazy, doc!" I replied, "Funny, she says the same thing about you!" And he says, without a trace of irony, "Well that just proves how crazy she is!"

Now, I'm frequently asked the probing question, 'So you think that's funny?' And if you don't know what that means, then let me explain it to you. I'll type really slow so you can keep up. The that they refer to when they say that is... sarcasm. And my answer is, it sure can be. As in, "Ah, I see you've set aside some time today to humiliate yourself in public!" As in, "I like you. You remind me of when I was young and stupid." As in "I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter." As in, "Well, you probably said it without thinking, the way you do most things." As in, "I've had an incredible evening. But not tonight."

Sarcasm aims at a target. And it is not always funny, unless it is used the way I use it. Because I use sarcasm in stories about other people, not about you. In those stories, I sometimes first have other people use it on me. Then, as part of the same stories, I use it on them, because they deserve it. My audience seems to agree. HAH! But I never use it directly on anyone. Except my former best friend, who tells me that hurtful sarcasm means, "I love you" in his hometown. I'm not sure if that's true. If it is, he must love me a lot. But then, if he had an honest opinion, it would probably wind up be in solitary confinement. My biggest regret is that, when we were friends, I could never quite lower my I.Q. enough to have a meaningful dialog with him. He's inscrutable, like a Vulcan, only without the ears, or the depth. But I hear that a mind reader offered to read his mind for half price!

By the way, I used to think that the single best response to sarcasm was "I know you are, but what am I?" I've since learned a funnier response. Take it at face value, as if it is meant to be exactly what it says. Someone tells you "Do you tie your own shoes?" You reply, "Yes, as a matter of fact, I do." Keep that up and after awhile, they'll take their sarcasm and go away. "Don't let the door hit you on the way out!" you can yell helpfully after them, while ironically hoping that it does!

Ok, kiddo, go have some fun with funny, and while you're at it, make your persuasion proposition funny too! If it was already funny, make it funnier. If you want to know more, pay attention. Because funny happens all the time. And a quick post-mortem after the fact just may reveal how a deadpan affect worked, or how a joke killed an audience. But no matter what you do, when you finish this article, you should walk, don't run, to your own happy place, find some funny and have a great laugh at my expense. Me, I'm going to go play with words, because that's what I like to do when I'm not playing with them here.

Funny Songs - Do They Really Tickle Your Funny Bone?

Folks, we all like funny songs though many of us don't include funny songs in our favorite songs list. Funny songs raise your sense of humor. People sometimes mention the funny bone when they talk about their sense of humor. Maybe you've heard someone say "that really tickled my funny bone."

But the question is whether funny things really tickle our funny bone. This topic is going to be a long discussion. So please fetch yourself a bowl of popcorn if you don't plan to get pissed off with what you are going to read..... cuz its going to be a long read. I will wait. lalalala ok did you come back yet? No? Oh! ok! Still waiting...lalala, You back yet? Ah! finally ok. well..you are not eating your popcorn.....OK. thats better.

Now, are you going to curse me if I ask you to leave your popcorns and taste a few biology snacks? I believe you won't because my grandma says that there are as many good people as there are bad.

So lets taste these snacks one by one:

1. Spicy osteodelight:

Have you ever hit the inside of your elbow in just the right spot and felt a tingling or prickly kind of dull pain? That's your funny bone! It doesn't really hurt as much as it feels weird. The "funny bone" got its nickname because of that funny feeling you get after you hit it.

2. Baked neurocookie:

You get that funny feeling when the ulnar nerve is bumped against the humerus (say: hyoo-muh-rus), the long bone that starts at your elbow and goes up to your shoulder.

The funny bone is funny at just one point or region of the human elbow. Isn't it funny? Oops!! Sorry....I mean isn't it delicious?

But is there any relation between humor and the funny bone? Lets leave this task for you to understand. After all, you need to digest your popcorns and the recipes I brought for you.

Now lets come up to funny songs. Students can also make up funny songs that help them remember historical events or geographical locations or math facts. Needless to say, their musical intelligence is also exercised in the process. Funny songs can also add warmth and a welcoming atmosphere to the classroom environment as students enter the room. Like any other teaching strategy, musical humor should be used sparingly and at unexpected times in order to surprise and delight.

Songwriter Jesse Goldberg of Nashville, who has won many awards for his stomach-churning funny songs says

"It's very hard to be funny and you have to be serious about being funny when you're doing it."

The Art of the Funny Facebook Status

You've joined Facebook, added your friends, and reconnected with the people you went to high school with (even those you don't remember). Bring it all together with humor. Trying to define what makes a funny Facebook status is like trying to define what makes anything funny. Good luck with that.

First, partake in a little self-examination: are you funny? Here's a hint-if people have consistently told you that you are funny, congratulations. You probably are. If, on the other hand, you rarely hear the phrase, "You are funny," or you hear it only from someone with a perplexed grimace on her face, then you might want to rethink your funny-Facebook-status plan. Quote poetry or inspirational affirmations instead.

Once you've established that you're plausibly funny, it's time to focus on status-writing. Why try for funny? Because Facebook is a much better experience when you make them laugh. Without humor, Facebook is an avalanche of cute-kid sayings, gourmet-meal photos, boastful travelogues, and ideological diatribes. Humor lightens the load. Be that essential person who cracks everyone up. They will all owe you one, whatever that entails. You set the terms.

It's generally easier to define what's not funny and then skew it accordingly. You can go for exaggeration-a common comedy approach. Or, if you have the genetic makeup for it, try absurdity. Just don't get too crazy, or you'll tip the scales into annoying. Facebook, with its myriad of pyramid-scheme-like games and meaningless quiz spam, is annoying enough. Don't add to the problem.

Here are a few typical Facebook status samples, with altered versions for comic effect.

Not funny: "Foofie is the cutest doggie in the whole world!!! I love my precious to pieces!!" (Who doesn't feel that way about the family pet? It's so generalized the meaning becomes vaporous.)

Better: "Foofie needs to learn that boobs are not stairs." (This is specific, slightly absurd, and yet somehow believable.)

Not funny: "Exhausted from work...is it Miller Time yet???" (No one wants to answer rhetorical questions, especially ones written by ad copywriters 25 years ago.)

Better: "Schnapps-it's not just for breakfast anymore." (Yes, it's exaggeration-we hope, for your sake-but turning clich?s into improbable life philosophies is potential comic gold.)

Not funny: "Wah-la! Seared Foie Gras in 12 steps." [Posted with an image of a perfectly styled dinner.] (Now all your friends eating bowls of leftover popcorn will feel cruddy as you smugly gorge yourself.)

Better: "I just had a series of mishaps in the kitchen worthy of a Peter Sellers movie, circa 1968." (Invoking an archetypal comic genius with self-effacing imagery makes you everyone's clumsy, lovable friend, not a self-important twit.)

Not funny: "Placed in today's triathlon and featured in Runner's Weekly! Time for pizza, brews and hot tub, in that order!" (Tally up the polite congratulations in your comments, you dull-witted narcissist.)

Better: "Public Service Announcement. Attention male runners: I know it's hot, but I beg of you, please put your shirts back on. Thank you." (Now you're serving the community and everyone is with you, not rolling their eyes.)

Not funny: "Paris truly is lovely in the spring." (Everyone's jealous. Enjoy the vacation.)

Better: "My fake French accent isn't going over too well. Maybe if I shout more...?" (Embrace the ugly American stereotype-it's refreshing. Everyone can relate, and that's what social networking is all about.)

Facebook, though constantly updated with quotes and images, can sometimes feel a bit stale. Throw in an unexpectedly funny status at your discretion. Your friends will reward you with heartfelt LOLs.
