Funny Quotes On Funny T Shirts

Many times when people wear a funny T shirt they normally have a funny quote or a saying on the T shirt rather than a picture. Although it is now common to wear a funny T shirt, that has a funny picture on the garment itself. But the most popular T shirts are the ones that have a funny quote or a saying in simple letters.

The reason that funny quotes are more popular than funny picture is that everyone can read simple funny sayings rather than people trying to look at a funny picture and trying to work out what that picture stands for or what it's actually trying to say. Once people have read the funny quotes then they will make their minds up to either laugh out loud, or to keep the joke to themselves.

Even at work when people have none uniform days in participating or affiliating with a charity wear staff pay a nominal fee for one day to wear normal dress down days rather than office clothes. Even on this particular day a lot of the staff would wear a comical T shirt that would have a funny quote or a saying just to grab the next person's attention.

A lot of adults especially adults with younger children between the ages of ten to nineteen, would wear a funny T shirt at the weekends. Adults normally would wear a hilarious T shirt for a number of reasons, sometime adults wear funny T shirts to embarrass their children, and reason number two would be to make them cool and hip like their younger children.

If people on a weekend go out on a night out with their friends and family, then women would get dressed up smartly, however the men would wear something less formal more casual like jeans, shoes and a T shirts. More than likely that the T shirt would have a funny saying, or funny quote. Men do this a lot just to get everyone talking and breaking the silence at a party where there would be a lot strange faces about.

If only men were to go out on a night out then there would be a high probability that the men would all wear the same T shirt and would have something hilarious written on the T shirt. Men do this when going out on a party or a gathering to impress the ladies, and wanting to meet their future partners to be or maybe I'm wrong maybe they do this for just a bit of banter and be on the humorous side of things in life. What ever the reason a lot of people wear funny T shirts to get noticed or to be noticed.

The writer of this article loves wearing funny t shirts and he loves writing anything to do with funny t shirt.

How To Start A Very Profitable Funny Pages Newspaper Business

THE NUTS AND BOLTS OF A FUNNY PAGES NEWSPAPER BUSINESS

You make money by selling ads in a 4 to 8 page funny or comic newspaper that you provide to local businesses such as restaurants, coffee shops, hair salons, and so forth.

If you know where to get your paper printed, the low cost of the printing allows you to sell ads at a significant profit. If, for example, you deliver 20,000 funny page newspapers to your community containing 15 ads sold at $200 each, you would have raised $3,000. The cost of printing and shipping would average around $1,000 so you would have netted around $2,000-and that is every month!

This is the bare minimum of the potential for a funny page business in your area. We will discuss profit potential in detail later on.

IS THERE A MARKET?

Your market should consist of a town or city with a minimum population of 10,000 to 50,000 people. A printing of 5,000, 10,000 to 20,000 funny papers each month is sufficient for these size populations. A metropolitan area, however, can be divided up into sections, and an enterprising individual can produce several funny papers for each region, suburb, or surrounding cities. This can bring incredible profit potential!

In such a market, there ought to be plenty of businesses eager and willing to place advertisements in your funny pages. There also ought to be plenty of distribution points for you to deliver your papers to.

DETERMINE THE LEGAL AND TAX RAMIFICATIONS

Each state, city, and county is different in what they require. Most states will require some sort of business license and a registered trade name. Consult your state's Secretary of State website. Your Trade Name could be as simple as: The Funny Pages of Your City Name.

In most cases, you will not have to worry about sales tax since you are not selling a tangible item. You give away your Funny Papers for free. You make money by selling advertisements in them. This is usually sales tax free. Still, it is best to check your local codes.

A simple Sole Proprietorship business is often sufficient.

You will need to be aware of income tax, Social Security taxes, and Medicare taxes. Most of this information can be found at the IRS. It would be recommended to pay these taxes monthly, quarterly, or yearly (this is often determined by the profit your business produces, see the IRS website).

START UP COSTS

There really is no start up costs other than a little leg work.

The money to print your funny pages is supplied by the advertisers. If you wanted to, you could purchase some stands for your papers. This is advisable, but again, this can be purchased from the profits of your first paper, not in advance.

PROFIT POTENTIAL OF A FUNNY PAGE BUSINESS

Since this can easily be done as a one man operation, you get to keep all the profits. Here are some likely scenarios:

SCENARIO 1: Printing 20,000 4 page papers with 15 ads sold at $200.00 each

Total Income: $3,000
Total Cost (including shipping) of Papers: $1,000
Net Monthly Income: $2,000

SCENARIO 2: Printing 20,000 8 page papers with 30 ads sold at $200.00 each

Total Income: $6,000
Total Cost (including shipping) of Papers: $1,400
Net Monthly Income: $4,600

SCENARIO 3: Doing 'Scenario 1' in TWO cities:

Total Income: $6,000
Total Cost (including shipping) of Papers: $2,000
Net Monthly Income: $4,000

SCENARIO 4: Doing 'Scenario 2' in TWO cities:

Total Income: $12,000
Total Cost (including shipping) of Papers: $2,800
Net Monthly Income: $9,200

Scenario 1 would be your target goal to begin with. Achieving that will allow you work towards the other scenarios. But once established it is much easier to expand and grow. You can sell more ads than the scenarios above suggest. This will bring in more income too. You can also choose to sell the ads for even more money.

The legwork part of this business is soliciting the advertisements from the local businesses in your area. But once done over several months, you will have a base of advertisers to draw on with a few phone calls!

STEPS TO STARTING YOUR OWN FUNNY PAGE BUSINESS

Step 1: Build Your Distribution Points

This will not be difficult, just a little time consuming. Approach a business and ask to see the manager or owner. Tell them what you are doing and ask if you could leave papers with them every month for their customers to enjoy. The papers are free, and most businesses will not complain about having something that occupies their customers' time and keeps them in their establishments. Offering stands makes this even easier.

Keep in mind what you are offering. Families with children all the way to the elderly love funny papers with comics, trivia, puzzles and more. So consider the following places to put your papers:

Restaurants (including fast food restaurants)
Libraries
Hair Salons
Doctor Offices
Dentist Offices
Coffee Shops
Gas Stations
Banks
Etc

Compile a list of these distribution points on a piece of paper, or in a database or spreadsheet.

Step 2: Solicit Your Advertisers

Take your compiled list of distribution points to other businesses and show them who is taking your funny papers. Seeing where their ads will go will help in the selling process.

Ask to see whoever is in charge of the advertising. Have a print out of your pricing to share with them. Here is a possible pricing chart:

Monthly Color AD: $250
Monthly Black and White AD: $175
10% discount per AD if they sign a 3 month contract
15% discount per AD if they sign a 6 month contract
20% discount per AD if they sign a 12 month contract

Note: Make sure you provide your advertisers with the size options of their ads. See Step 4 for more information.

Of course, you can set your own pricing chart. Having discounts for monthly contracts is very attractive and will give you guaranteed income each month without having to solicit it! You may even have an introductory price for first time advertisers! You can have different pricing for different sizes of ads too.

Make sure you keep a database on all your advertisers, when they advertise, what size the advertisement is, color, black and white, frequency, and any contract they sign.

Bill your advertisers monthly with an invoice either mailed or e-mailed to them. Make sure they write their checks out to your trade name. It is important to collect enough money to cover your printing costs before printing.

Step 3: Collecting The Ads From Your Advertisers

The best thing would be to receive the Ads through e-mail. Make sure they are in a jpg or jpeg format so that you can upload them to your design software.

Some businesses will struggle designing their own ads and may ask if you could do it. If you are able and capable of doing so, either offer it free, or charge a $50.00 design and setup fee. Otherwise, ask them to find someone willing to design it for them and have it e-mailed to you.

Step 4: Designing And Printing Your Funny Pages

You could use a local webpress printer, but the cost is often prohibitive. See the end of the article the source of the newspaper pricing given above.

There are many different software applications that you can use to design your paper. But you will need some sort of publishing program, unless you can find a printer that has templates that you can use (again, see end of article for more information about this).

Make sure that you have given your advertisers the correct sizes of the ads (although this is adjustable in the designer) and upload your ad images. Once they are all uploaded to your satisfaction, order your papers!

Step 5: Distribute Your Funny Pages

Once you receive your papers, retrace your steps to all your distribution points and drop off your papers. In many cases, such as restaurants, you can give them extra to resupply once they are all taken.

Other places may not receive as much traffic so it may take a few months to determine the amount of papers to leave at each distribution point. Keep track of it in a database or spreadsheet.

Make sure your advertisers receive as many copies as they want. They ought to see their ad in your paper!

Step 6: Doing It Again Next Month

Fortunately, you will not have to do everything all over again. Many of your advertisers will advertise again-particularly if you have a signed contract with them. The leg work to get advertisers is cut in half the second month. Eventually, you will have a large enough advertiser base that you will hardly have to solicit any others!

And you already have your distribution points in place. You may need a few more, but much of that work is already done.

Simply put, a few phone calls from home and a bit of driving to deliver your papers will net you a monthly income!

Your Funny Pages business just turned into a part time job with a full time income!

Find Your Funny: Eight Tips for Adding Humor to Presentations

Some trainers, teachers and other communicators wish they could add humor to

their presentations, but they think, "I'm like the Muppets Fozzy Bear: I'm not funny."

The truth everyone is funny; including Fozzy; including you. More importantly, YOU

are funny, not in the same way that other people are, but in your own unique

fashion. After all, one of the keys to relationships (romantic, plutonic or

professional) is the ability to laugh together. You already do that in your daily life.

All you need to do now is to take those pre-existing skills and develop them in a

focused way. Here's how legendary funny man Steve Allen explained it.

"The popular conception of a humorist or comedian is of someone who writes, does

or says funny things. But a funny person is also someone to whom funny things

happen. The comedian's experiences are probably no more amusing than others;

he or she simply has a certain sensitivity to the environment and circumstances and

so perceives humor that a more serious person might miss."

Below I offer eight tips that can help you perceive, absorb and harness the humor

around you.

Tip 1. Surround yourself with humor.

Start your day by looking at a humorous daily calendar, listen to humor on your way

to work, display silly signs at your work location and prop up your office. Items like

daily quote calendars; silly hats and wind up toys have a positive effect on your

emotions and those of the people you come in contact with. Some of the items I

have collected and currently display in my office include a plastic shovel attached to

a neck lanyard (for boring meetings), a skeleton and a crown (my emergency Hamlet

kit for pontificating), various hats (Mounty for finding someone, Viking for going on

adventures and Outback for taking walk-abouts) and a Far Side daily cartoon

calendar. I do it because they help me think funny. Surrounding yourself with these

kinds of items will place you in a humorous mood and create an aura of funny about

you that makes it easier for other people to accept you as humorous.

Tip 2. Look for the absurdity in daily life.

Fortunately for funny people, the business and academic worlds abound with

endless absurdity. There are the inane policies, bureaucracies and inarticulate

memos to enjoy. There's also the unintentional statements of life: you have to hit

"delete" to start Windows; you land at a "terminal" when flying; and you park on

"driveways" and drive on "parkways." It's everywhere, if you look for it. If you cannot

find it yourself, read Dilbert. If you can laugh at the daily absurdities, you will be

less stressed when the bizarre happens and more in touch with the grand adventure

that life is.

Tip 3. Listen to comedians.

The late night comedians provide a daily lesson in being funny. Pay attention to

them, not as an audience member, but as a technician. Focus on the structure of the

jokes they tell. In this way, you can analyze the joke formulas without being

distracted by the delivery. Once you know the basic structures they use, focus on

their delivery techniques. Soon you will begin to notice the cadences they use, the

pauses they take and the little ticks and quirks they have that bring their humor to

life.

Tip 4. Read books about being funny.

Many comedians are more than willing to share their secrets. By simply searching

through a book store web site, you can discover that being comedic is a simple

combination of state of mind and solid technique.

Tip 5. Join "Joke-of-the-Day" lists.

Joke-of-the-day lists are a part of my strategy for finding funny stuff. Although I

switch lists from time to time, I'm currently on two. I am not suggesting that you

"lift" the jokes you read there. That would be, well, stealing. I am however

suggesting that you can use those jokes to learn how jokes are constructed and to

place yourself in a humorous frame of mind. Once you become adept at spotting the

joke telling formulas, you can use the jokes you read at these sites to write your

own jokes.

Tip 6. Build a collection of all-purpose funnies.

Start a funny file and whenever you read, hear or see something you consider funny,

print it out or write it down and file it. Soon, you will have built a collection of jokes

and cartoons you can refer to whenever you need to create a line. The material you

have collected will help you brainstorm creating your own.

Tip 7. Develop some standard lines you can use over and over.

Steve Allen once commented as follows.

"Comics with this ability (to ad-lib) are extremely rare. There may be fewer than fifty

professional comedians on the planet that are skilled at doing it. (Most) comedians

are indeed working without a script, but there is the crucial distinction that what

they are doing is recalling jokes that already exist, which they apply to the situation

of the moment. This is no small feat either, since one has to think rapidly and also

have a remarkable memory -- a memory car file through which the comic's brain

can riffle at lightning speed. But again, as impressive as this feat is, it is more a

matter of craftsmanship and professionalism than art."

You can reach a degree of this professionalism by learning the craft. When you

notice that learners have laughed at a comment you made, make a mental note of

what happened and try to replicate it with another audience. If your get the same

laugh in front of three audiences, keep it; play with it; expand it. If it stops working,

revert to the original line and lock it in. Then begin searching for another line.

Continue in this manner over a period of time and you will develop your own

comedic library of "ad-libs" to draw upon as the situation warrants.

Tip 8. Have fun.

This is perhaps the biggest secret of being funny. The audience will not laugh if you

are not having fun. Your demeanor sets the expectation. If you exude enjoyment of

the world around you, and of the events and learnings that occurs within your

classroom, your trainees will join you. They will also join you if you choose to regard

what you are doing as drudgery. The banana is in your hands. Having fun and you

will be instantly likeable, and thus more likely to gain laughs.

Joke Killers to watch out for

There are some additional factors that will prevent you from being funny. As you

put on your new humor hat, make sure you do the following.

Caution 1. Make your humor self-deprecating

The best humor is self-directed. I find it preferable to point out my faults before

others do. In that way, I admit my fallibility while indicating that I can take a joke. It

sets a benchmark for the training environment. In addition, humor that is self-

deprecating is less likely to offend others.

Caution 2. Be yourself.

Humor will not work if it is forced. When people laugh with you during your

everyday life, it is not because you have taken on a persona, it is because they enjoy

who you are and the humor that naturally emanates from your humanity. Be who

you are. Allow that naturalness to create your humor for you. I can offer an

example by picking on myself. It has been said that I look stiff and formal. I cannot

help it: it just is. That continence could have prevented me from being funny.

Instead, I have learned to use it. Because of my look, I dress and act slightly

pompous. That pomposity allows me to say and do fairly absurd things. The

disconnect between how I look and the craziness of what I say or do creates surprise

and allows natural humor emerges.

Caution 3. Avoid offensive material.

Political, religious or ethnic jokes are all not worth the telling. Even if some

members of your audience respond with laughter, other members will become so

offended that they will shut down (or shut your training down) and make learning

difficult if not impossible. In addition, blue material should be avoided at all costs.

Risqué lines often obtain their laughs from the unease and discomfort of the

audience. In a nightclub setting, that may be appropriate. But in a learning

environment, where comfort is directly tied to positive results, creating discomfort

for a cheap laugh is worse than insulting, it's stupid.

Caution 4. Never say you are going to tell a joke.

The best way to insure that your joke won't work is to telegraph it in advance.

Remember, in previous months we discovered that much of the laughter results

from learner surprise that you have told a joke. The very act of announcing your

intentions in advance almost guarantees a failure of the joke.

So, you are funny. You just didn't know it. Take the actions steps listed above and

you too can find your funny.

A Funny Comedian List - Who Are the Funniest of All Time?

I'm of the opinion that there is nothing better than a night of comedy. Nothing soothes the soul and calms the troubled waters of life (at least temporarily) than a good belly laugh delivered by a funny comedian. Whether on video, television, or at a live performance, a funny comedian will consistently work their craft, bring us to tears, and remind us that life doesn't have to permanently suck! And when it comes to choosing a funny comedian act, my tendency is to reach back in time for some classic humor.

Truth be told, I prefer those hilarious comedians of yore who transcended race, gender, and age. These masters of the genre consistently delivered their own brand of entertainment: the laugh-out-loud, help-I-can't-breath kind of fun that has stood the test of time.

Here are my choices for the top six comedians of all time:

Funny Comedian #1: Jack Benny:

Benny is considered to be the godfather of the genre. He was famous for his comic timing and his ability to get laughs from a pregnant pause or a single expression, such as his signature exasperated "Well!" His programs on radio and television were tremendously popular from the 1930s to the 1960s, and were a foundational influence on comedians of the next generation. Dean Martin, on the celebrity roast for Johnny Carson in November 1973, introduced Benny as "the Satchel Paige of the comedy world."

Funny Comedian #2: Jonathan Winters - Winters got his start as a guest star on Arthur Godfrey's, Jack Paar's, and Steve Allen's shows. Later he would make his mark with Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show. His comedy style worked perfectly in television, movies, and books, stemming from the bizarre characters he created from his own imagination. Although he is getting on in years (at this writing he is still with us), his videos continually prove to be popular on YouTube. Through the miracle of technology, a new generation of fans are getting introduced to this funny comedian.

Funny Comedian #3: Bob Hope:

Bob Hope was an American comedy icon throughout the 20th century. He starred in vaudeville, and later moved on to Broadway, and then eventually conquered radio, television and movies. However, he may be most famous for his unceasing work on behalf of the US Armed Forces and his numerous USO tours. He literally entertained millions of American military personnel throughout his illustrious career. In 1996, the U.S. Congress honored Bob Hope by declaring him the "first and only honorary veteran of the U.S. armed forces." Hope was truly an American hero, along with being one of America's most successful funny comedians. Even while dying, Bob Hope was ever the comic. According to one of Hope's daughters, when asked on his deathbed where he wanted to be buried, he told his wife, "Surprise me".

Funny Comedian #4: Bill Cosby:

Cosby, more than any other funny comedian, was (and still is) successful with all types of media. And he found success while consistently yielding a human perspective to his routines. Considering his modest beginnings, and his childhood growing up in the projects of Philadelphia, it's no surprise he brings a different style to his comedy. He's adept at storytelling, and has been able to make his tales funny in varied mediums such as cartoons, television shows, movies, and books. It was Cosby who broke the TV color barrier with his character on I Spy in the 1960s. Later he would become the first and most successful Black comedian to star in (and wield control) of his own sitcom. His comedic style seems to make everyone laugh, irrespective of skin color.

Funny Comedian #5: Phyllis Diller:

Diller is one of those rare women who raised five children, and still was able to make history in the man's world of stand-up comedy. She wrote her own material, and effectively presented it for over 40 years! It's impressive to realize that she was able to be funny even while championing causes for children, cancer, and other philanthropic ventures. As of this writing, she is still with us, although she has retired from personal appearances.

Funny Comedian #6: George Carlin

Born during the Great Depression and coming of age during the hippie movement, this high school dropout never fit into the mainstream. His style of dress and his routines always defied the norm and he initially experienced significant struggles because of it. His famous Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television and his appearance as the first guest on Saturday Night Live marked him as an unpredictable comedian and began a long line of "firsts" for this man of talent. Awarded the Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize in 2008, one week before his death, he was the first to receive the award posthumously.

In the interest of space, I left several funny comedians off of this list. Names such as Red Skelton, Joan Rivers, and Lenny Bruce should be considered worthy of inclusion on any list of funny comedians.

What do you think? Who would you rank as the top funny comedians of all time?
